8.5.2012 In Process of doing Assignment 2(cg3) - My part III

This is the last part for me to do, 'And in the end, hand in hand'.

Before this, I have done 1 flash for this part but it's too ugly and weird =.= (said by my other group members)

So, I have to do think another idea and do again. ^O^

I have used 2 types of typographies in this flash.

Before start to do the part, I edited and cut my part from the song and calculate the time for every word that sang out again. It's to make my typographies can come out at the accurate time with word when sang out in the song.














Remember import edited song into the frame.

Steps to do the part in flash :

1.  Firstly, I created 6 new layers.
'And in the' has typed together in 1 layer ; 'E' and 'ND' of  'End' has typed in 2 layers respectively for purpose ; 'Hand' , 'In' and 'Hand' also has typed in 3 layers respectively.

2. I scaled 'And in the' up until almost fulfill the frame and change colour to dark brown. Insert key frame at 0.6 s and move to right side until can see 'E' in the frame only. Create classic tween between the duration.

3. I would like to change colour if 'E' to red colour but I don't know how to change. Therefore, I created the new layer for 'E' only in step 1. Move key frame to 0.5 s, scale it down which is smaller than previous 'E' and place it on the same place. Convert it into symbol and apply alpha effect on it.











4. Move key frame to 0.6s on 'ND' layer, scale it same size and change to same colour as 'E' and place it on the top but out of the frame.











5. Insert key frame at 0.7 s on the three layers :'And in the' , 'E' and 'ND'.
At 0.7 s ,
'And in the' : Convert it to symbol and apply alpha effect on it.
'E' : Change the effects to 'None'.
'ND' : Place it beside the 'E'.
Create classic tween between the durations.











6. I would like to let the 'END' vibrate up and down for a moment so I have applied some effect to it. Double click 'E' and go to tween window. Insert first 4 key frame. Move 'E' up a bit at second key frame and do same thing at 4th frame. After that, click on the 'Scene 1' to go out from the window. Apply same action on 'ND'.











7. Insert key frame at 1.8 s on both of  'E' and 'ND' layers. Before this, remember go to properties of the 2 layers and change to graphic from movie clip in the first category  to measure the word will vibrate up and down until 1.8 s. At 1.8 s, change back to movie clip from graphic at the same place.











8. Insert key frame at 1.9 s, scale them up until out of the frame. Insert another key frame at 2.0 s, move 'E' to left up and out of the frame whereas move 'ND' to right up and out of the frame too to give the meaning the explosion of 'END' . Create classic tween motion between the durations on each layer.

9. I create 3 new layers and vector out 3 group of different sizes of squares and also in different tone of red colours at 1.8 s and 1.9 s. It's because I would like to make it have strongly explosion effect.

10. At 1.8 s and 1.9 s, they are together and placed under 'END'. Insert key frame at 2.0 s, move them arbitrary at all the place of frame. Create classic tween between the durations.






















11. Move key frame to 2.0 s on 'hand' layer, scale it up until out of frame and change in blue colour.

12. Insert key frame at 2.4 s, scale it down. Create classic tween between 2.0 s and 2.4 s.











13. Insert another key frame at 2.6 s, scale it down to a normal size and move it to right up of the frame. Move key frame to 2.6 s on 'In' layer, scale it to same size as 'hand' , convert it to symbol and then apply alpha effect as 10% and place it same as 'an' of 'hand'. Change 'In' in deeper blue colour than 'hand'.


14. I would like change colour if 'hand' to black so I used same technique as 'E' layer on this layer. Insert key frame 2.7 s on 'hand' layer, apply alpha effect on it. Create classic tween between 2.6 s and 2.7 s. Create 1 new layers and type 'hand' and same size as previous one but is in black colour at 2.8 s.

15. At the same time, move 'In' down under 'hand' and change the effect to 'None'. Create classic tween between 2,6 s and 2,8 s.











16. Insert key frame at 2.9 s on both of  black 'hand' and 'In' layers. Move them to left hand side together. Create classic tween between 2.8 s and 2.9 s on both of 2 layers.











17. Insert key frame at 3.0 s on both of  black 'hand' and 'In' layers. Move them up until black 'hand' out of the frame and can see 'In' in the frame only. Create classic tween between 2.9 s and 3.0 s on both of 2 layers.

18. I also would like change colour if 'In' to black so I used same technique again. Insert key frame at 3.4 on the 'In' layer only, apply alpha effect again but is in 0%. Create classic tween between 3.0 s and 3.4 s. 

19. Create 1 new layers and type 'In' and same size as previous one but is in black colour at 3.1 s. Convert the black 'In' to symbol and apply alpha effect at 3.1 s and then insert 1 more key frame at 3.5 s and change effect to 'None'. Create classic tween between the durations.

20. Move key frame to 3.1 s on 'hand 2' layer (I have 2 'hand' in this sentence), scale it up until out of frame and change in deeper blue colour then 'In'.











21. Insert key frame at 3.3 s, scale it down to a normal size. Create classic tween between 3.1 s and 3.3 s.











22. Insert key frame at 3.5 s, move it under 'In' and create classic tween between 3.3 s and 3.5 s.











23. Insert key frame at 3.6 s on 'hand 2' , black 'In' and black 'hand' layers. Hold shift and click on them and select together, move them down a bit like the picture shown as below :











24. Insert key frame at 3.7 s on the 4 layers, move them down a bit together again like the picture shown as below :
Create classic tween between the 3.6 s and 3.7 s.











25. Insert the final key frame on the 4 layers at 3.8 s but don't create classic tween between 3.7 s and 3.8 s.

3.5.2012 In Process of doing Assignment 2(cg3) - My part II

Today we gathered in library and continues to do our work.

Before start to do the part, I edited and cut my part from the song and calculate the time for every word that sang out. It's to make my typographies can come out at the accurate time with word when sang out in the song.














Steps to do the part in flash :

1. Firstly, I created 6 new layers and typed each 5 words in each 5 layers. I draw 2 stickes in the 6th layers to represent stickman.











2. At 0.0 s, covert 'we' and 'thought' to symbol and set them to alpha 40% under colour effects category in properties tab. At the same time, scale them down become very small and place them in between the two sticks.











3. Insert key frame at 0.1 s, scale them up and place to a place respectively that want them flow through. Change the words' colour to different tone of blue colours. Create classic tween between 0.0 s and 0.1 s.











4. Insert key frame at 0.9 s and 1.1 s, apply alpha effect on  'we' and 'thought' again but set to 0 % respectively and place them to right up of the frame. Create classic tween between the duration.











5. Insert key frame at 0.6 s, 0.8 s and 1.6 s, apply same actions and effects as step 2 to 'we' , 'couldn't' and 'tame' respectively.











6. Insert key frame at 1.1 s, apply same actions as step 3 to 'we' and 'couldn't'. After that, insert key frame at 1.4 s and 1.9 s and apply same actions as step 4 to them respectively. 


7. Insert key frame at 2.1 s and 2.5 s on the tame layer. Create classic tween between the duration and click at 2.1 s, click to properties and can see tweening category and set the action as shown below :

8. At 2.5 s, scale the word up and place it at left up of the frame. Then, insert key frame at 2.9 s and place it at right up of the frame. Create classic tween between 2.5 s and 2.9 s.












9. Insert key frame at 3.6 s on the same layer, scale the word up to very big and out of the frame then set it to alpha as 0%. Create classic tween between 2.9 s and 3.6 s.

24.4.2012 Consultation with group leader for my part @.@

As the result of consultation, my work has rejected by my group leader because I didn't create the strong effect when 'The life that we knew had to change' drop and hit another sentence.

Moreover, he decide change some idea for my part. Therefore, the part has given to him to do it again.

Anyway, thanks you my group leader =P

21.4.2012 Start To Do Assignment 2(cg3) - My part

The idea for my part actually very simple as below :














'Then things weren’t the same' is come out with a close-up frame, so we just can see 'w'  'e'  'r'  'e' these 4 words at first.

Then, the sentence will appear by zoom out the frame and the stickman will help by another stick man to get out from the 'W' and run through the words until 'N'. At the same time, 'The life that we knew had to change' will drop from the top and squash the sentence below and then zoom in the frame. Stick man will closed below bar of  'H'.

However, my idea has changed a bit because of some problem. @.@ Such as position of the words that will come out at first.
 

Steps to do the part in flash :

1. After type the sentence 'Then things weren’t the same' in a new layer, I scaled up the sentence to make audience just can see some part of the sentence and stickman has dropped inside ' W ' . (Stickman is done by Tang Tak Choon)


2. Insert key frame at 0.9 s, move the sentence to left hand side until can see whole word of 'weren't' and create classic tween between 0.0 s and 0.9 s.


3. Insert key frame at 1.4 s, scaled the sentence to make it become clearly to see whole sentence and create classic tween between 0.9 s and 1.4 s.














4. Insert key frame at 1.6 s and create a new layer. 'The life that we knew had to change' has typed in the new layer and place out of the frame but top of the frame. 


5. Insert key frame at 3.8 s and place the sentence at the postion where you want the sentence drop to.


















6. Insert key frame at 3.7 s and 4.2 s on the layer of 'Then things weren’t the same'. Then, move the sentence up to position where will hit by 'The life that we knew had to change' at 4.2 s. Create classic tween between 3.7 s and 4.2 s ; Insert key frame at 3.8 s and 4.3 s on the layer of 'The life that we knew had to change' and move the sentence down a bit to hit the previous sentence at 4.3 s. Create classic tween between 3.8 s and 4.3 s too.


















7. Insert key frame at 4.5 s on the both of 2 layers, move the layers down together.


8. Insert key frame at 5.1 s on the both of 2 layers, scale them up to big size like what has done in step 1 and move them down until bottom of the frame.This sentence 'Then things weren’t the same' has moved down until out of the frame.

20.4.2012 Start To Do Assignment 2(cg3) - StoryBoard??

After class, we decide go to library to discuss how to do the kinetic typography and think about the flow of whole video.

Suddenly, we all think that 'Want You Gone' this song is not suitable and strongly to bring out the meaning of patriotism.

We change the song and do research again.

Lastly, we decide to use 'We Will Get There' which was our orientation song. 

We need to think the plan to do the kinetic typographic again because rhythm of this song slower a bit.

Starting thinking our 'storyboard'...














We decide to use a stickman to follow the words or do some action to attract audience eye and create movement to guide audience to follow the typography.

After we drew out the parts of first 5 sentences of lyric, we started to distribute each part to each members.

My part is to do the 'Then things weren’t the same' and 'The life that we knew had to change' these 2 sentences.


19.4.2012 Start To Do Assignment 2(cg3) - Research

Today, our group decide to start to do research for our assignment 2 after Computer Graphics class.
We decide to do a kinetic typography video by using a related song and songs below are in our consideration :


1. You and I (Kinetic Typography Animation)















The reason that we consider this song is 'You and I' has the meaning of patriotism. You and I together...XD


2. Portal 2 Typography - Want You Gone 















The reason that we consider this song is 'Freedom' has the meaning of patriotism. Actually this is suggested by Tc Choon, our group leader and we like this video because it's so interesting and might refer to technique that used to show kinetic typography in this video.


3. Malaysian Boy 















The reason that we consider this song is 'Malaysian Boy' has fully represent patriotism. The rhythm of this song also nice to listen and easy to create a kinetic typography video.


Finally, we were decide to use 'Want You Gone' this song in our assignment.
